I've got a list of contacts retrieved from an old phone but upon opening it, it looks like this in wordpad:

Mä^ð<Ýó
Ág•f~”{]¬¶&÷sE{!xÞZóLUž¯ÄùsÿÿÅáùB¥)C¹áùs?o´ïDæÑðƒò‡ÊZ“«ƒ:F›/cƒëQYûpQ3ç`pnLÎg&—ý¯Ço¬ã˜ÈxR™ÌT¦3“ÙÌýBºköžÜëù|é,b ËXÎ
V±šÖ°–u¬g›ØLÖÎæîk«åmÁs&;ØÉ.v³—}ìç

It's the right size and all but its all messed up. Is there any way to decrypt/uncorrupt it?

Thanks!

Because memory in a phone is somewhat precious it's probably the case that what you have there is data that's been stored in a compressed format. Might even be proprietary, in which case you may be out of luck.
