Getting a good cpu cooler such as the TRUE or Xigmatek will probably let you achieve 3.6GHz. This depends on your cpu's OCing potential, but 3.6GHz with the G0 revision should do it.

Evil, p5n-e, lol! That be a 6x0i with a q6600. You know how that goes. I do believe I have a 680i board sitting right over there with nothing in it, due to its inability to OC well at all! Let alone 3.6! But.. he could be in that rare 10% of people who's 6x0i will OC with a q6Xxx. But I will let you go into all that!

I do wish you the best of luck! maybe the 650i's are better than the 680i's? But not from what i have read.

Oh, didn't spot that at all.

Lupi is right, the Nvidia 6series chipset doesn't work well with the Quads.

If you haven't bought the parts already, get the ASUS Pk5-e.

just a question, but why such slow ram with such a good system, yes their is allot but unless your running 64bit its pointless? go for 4x1GB Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066 or Corsair Tracer for funkyness :D

I agree usually, but in my case, I pushed the FSB pretty high and couldn't use 800. In a normal situation, where you aren't pushing over 450 FSB, 800 is more than enough. I had the money to blow, I liked the fancy heatsinks on the Dominator and the 1066 was on sale :p If it weren't for those 3 factors, I'd have gotten 800 as well.

My 4gigs (2x2) adata 800 wasn't doing very well over 850 so I just ordered some Gskill (2x2) 1000 since I'm hoping to hit 500mhz fsb with a few more tweaks. Granted It'll be a while since I won't have time for lapping my new Xigmatek and my q6600 till I finish my kitchen remodeling.

I think the OP will be to hit 3.6 just fine with any of the top 10 heatsinks listed on frostytech.
