CPU:Memory Ratio in Q6600 Overclock

I'm running a Q6600 at 3.0 GHz (333*9), and I read on a forum somewhere that I should run my FSB and memory frequency in a 1:1 ratio. That means the memory I have, DDR2-800 is running at 667 in order to maintain the 1:1 ratio. Am I missing out on performance by not having the memory running at 800?

  1. No, you won't be missing anything major. The performance difference is minimal, if any. Just lower your timings accordingly.
  2. The stock timings are 5-5-5-15, so should I change anything?
  3. You could probably bring it down to 4-4-4-12. You might need to adjust the voltages, but give it a try. Run Prime95 or Orthos blend test for at least 8hours to check for stability.
