How bout a Q6600 with 4 gig? You won't regret spending the extra few bucks.

Thanks for the reply. I cant quite afford the Q6600 with 4GB

But it's got me thinking:
What's better:
E6850 3.0GHZ with 2GB
or
Q6600 2.4GHz with 2GB
Both cost around the same

I can always add another 2GB RAM in the future.

By the way once I have the rig running for a few months I will be overclocking it.

Def. 100% on the Q6600...no way around it. Overclocking the Q6600 to 3.2 is child's play, and runs no risks. Basically, you're getting a $1000 processor for $200, all you have to do is a simple, simple, SIMPLE overclock.

In fact, I'll go so far as to say you'd be shooting yourself in the foot going with any of the other options over the Q6600.
