my wd1600aajs was stated to be corrupted when i tried to install vista, I had no idea why since it worked before. Asides from that, vista ran as if I was running a p2. So I get a new drive and voila problem solved, I open my drive and theres a tiny smudge/scratch mark on the plater.
Now my questions are, are both sides of a platter used to store info (its a single plater drive), so would fliping it do anything, and if so, how stupid would pluging power to an opened hard drive be? Other then that anyone know of cool projects to attempt with opened hd's now that my warrenty is gone
