I have an HTPC is a non-HTPC case, and was just wondering if there was something I could buy to actually power on my computer with a remote control - rather than having to hit the power button all the time. Thanks!!

If you're already using XP MCE or Vista Home Premium for the HTPC media controlling you can just use something like this: Logisys Wireless Remote MultiFunction Panel $35

If you want an option that doesnt require using a drive bay this option will work:
VLSystem M-Play MINI Remote Controller for PC $35 @ FrozenCPU

If one has a boot rom on his Lan card, one might "boot on lan".

You will need a DHCP/PXE server however, it does work.
