Hello,

I am planning to buy the following computer parts:
ASUS P5N-E SLI
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
Zalman CNPS9700 NT CPU Cooler
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 2GB Kit DDR2-800 XMS2-6400 Xtreme Performance Ram
Corsair PSU 550W 12CM ATX V2.2 PFC
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD5000AAKS 500 GB 16 MB 7200 RPM SATA II
Black 328 Mid-Tower ATX Kotelo + 2 LED Fans
Razer Lachesis 4000dpi 3G Laser Mouse with 1000 Hz & 32 KB Onboard Memory

Is everything okay? I am not rich so I need to be sure I can buy the computer, I can not afford switching chipsets or anything after buying...

Hi,

I will overclock my cpu, not sure about the gpu.

I will play Bioshock, HL2 Episode 1&2, C&C Tiberium wars, FEAR, etc etc lots of games. And I hope I can run Crysis some how too :p

Since you have an SLI motherboard, you might want to consider getting 2 8800GT Cards. It will cost about the same and give you better performance.

You should look for Ballistix ram which is a great overclocker. The cpu is fine. The board too. Ah one thing regarding the 650i is that the slots will run at x8 in SLI & x16 in single config.

So my 650i will run the GPUs in x8 mode if I have two cards, but at the start I will have only one at x16.

What's the difference between x8 and x16? Does it matter much in games (frames per second) if I have two cards on x8 compared to x16?

Is RAM important in overclocking? Sorry for being newbie.

Sorry I haven't seen many reviews of pci-e cards running at x8 & x16. Purists prefer X16 SLI. For one card, it doesn't matter.

Depends: if you o/c the ram, the ram is important. However, 6x0i can overclock the cpu & ram independently. You can leave the ram at stock while overclocking the cpu. The Ballistix is dirt cheap. If you pass it up, when you upgrade to Intel-chipset board, your o/c will be limited by the ram cuz Intel boards o/c cpu & ram at the same time.
