16x SLI vs 8x SLI mobos

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to finalize a purchase and I'm stuck on one problem. I will purchase 2 evga 8800gt so I can link them through SLI.

My concern is whether or not I should spend the extra money for a mobo that supports full 16x SLI (e.g. MSI P6N Diamond) or one that only does 8x SLI (e.g. MSI P6N Platinum).

Will even notice a difference when running games such as Crysis, CoD4, TF2, etc?

Please help me justify a nearly $100 difference.

Hello mate

Dual 16x and Dual 8x doesnt have very much difference, here are benchmakrs of dual 16x vs dual 8x (its an old artice, but it describes everything well):
