Cannot connect to RDC using WinXP SP3

Last response: in Windows XP

All,
I cannot connect to a Win XP SP3 PC from my Win XP SP3 PC.

The PC I am trying to connect to is a new build, XP SP3, with Windows firewall disabled.

IP Addresses are static and both are on the same network with the same masks and gateway. Wins and DNS on each are identical on each as well.

I can ping by IP and by name from client to host and host to client.

Both PCs are part of the same domain.

I have added Domain Admins (of which I am a member) as users to the Remote Desktop group on the newly built PC.

Others in the department cannot connect to this PC either. But each of us can connect to other PCs in the domain using RDC.

We always use RDC and have never come across this issue. Thank goodness for DameWare.

RDC is a necessary part of this rollout, so this issue will have to be resolved.

Any ideas short if rebuilding, *again*?

Thanks for your reply, But I found the error was a tiny little check box named "Allow USers To Connect Remotely"
I checked it and all is well.

Thanks for your time.

You're welcome - nice when they're simply even if a bit embarrassing. :D
