this drive Matshita UJ-831D on my Vaio FS series gave up after a long battled service of 3 years (if we call 3 years is enough!)... an dnow needs a replacement.
Not sure which models / units will fit in my Vaio that have similar form factor (not features 
). There are NECs and Lite-Ons but I am not sure which one will fit in may be with slight tweaks if possible.
Alos I am looking in the drive is region free compatibility for DVDs playback.
Options of External drive are open but I am going ot consider them in the worst case I do not find a replacement.
