hi, we know tht new cards like 8800gt and HD3870 is a pcie 2 card. I wana ask if anyone know tht if this card is compatible wif my board, Abit AN8 Ultra which uses Nvidia NF4 Ultra chipset, a non sli mobo. This board's on pcie but im not sure if its pcie 1.0a (which isnt compatible wif 8800gt) or pcie 1.1 (which works fine). Anyone can enlighten me on this? Thanx.
Hi ,
I have a similar question for my Gigabyte GA-K8NF9 using nforce4 chipset. I can't get answer from Gigabyte whether the version of PCIe on this board is 1.1 or 1.0a and whether it can be flashed to be compatible with the 8800gt. I would appreciate if someone out there can shed some light on this.
As long as the board has an PCIe x 16 slot you can use newer cards. As far as I know all K8 boards have these but double check the specs of you're mobo
