Hi ,
I have a similar question for my Gigabyte GA-K8NF9 using nforce4 chipset. I can't get answer from Gigabyte whether the version of PCIe on this board is 1.1 or 1.0a and whether it can be flashed to be compatible with the 8800gt. I would appreciate if someone out there can shed some light on this.

thansk in advance.

As long as the board has an PCIe x 16 slot you can use newer cards. As far as I know all K8 boards have these but double check the specs of you're mobo

Thanks G-paw.
I have also recently found this link that makes me more confident to fork out some cash to upgrade from 7900gt to this 8800gt .
