Hi,

I'm trying to setup a home network but can't get my XP Home to connect to my XP Pro workgroup. I keep getting the error message "Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the Admin..... blah blah". I’m using a Linksys 4 port wired router.

Any ideas why my XP Home PC can't join the workgroup? I tried to search Windows help for things such as permissions but it's totally useless. I ran the network setup wizard but no use. Also, I'm sure the workgroup name is spelled correctly on both machines.

Any help appreciated.

Can you ping the PCs from each other?

Simple File Sharing. Google it for Windows XP.
