Partition Merge

I'm preparing to transition my files from a partition to an external hard drive. Once those files are moved I'm planning on using Partition Magic to merge the storage partition into the OS partition. Have hopes of leaving my OS partition intact so as not to have to reinstall all that software. Never having merged partitions before, just looking to the experts to find out if this is possible and what obstacles I might encounter.

Regardless, back up your files prior to the merge. It may take a while to merge the partitions. You shouldn't run into any problems.
