Open a Command Prompt window (Start, Run and enter CMD). Then enter:

DIR C:\autorun.*

If the DIR command returns an AUTORUN.INF enter REN C:\AUTORUN.INF AUTORUN.INF.OLD

If the above does not solve your problem, click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT. Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\setup.exe

Look in the right pane for the (Default) value. This should read (value not set). If it doesn't, right click (Default) and select Delete. This will remove what shouldnt' be there and it will change to read (value not set).
