Hey, I only recently got a CD/DVD rom that can burn and I went to burn a CD. I decided to use Windows Media Center but found that the CD works on 1 CD player but not my car stereo or home stereo. How Should I burn the CD so it works on all my stereos, could it be the CDs I'm trying to burn to?

It could be lot of things. Could be low quality cd, could be low power burner not burning strong enough to play on all players specially if it is notebook burner. Could be that your car unit does not support R and/or RW CD's. Could be that You are burning multisession cd's and car Radio does not support them.Try burning at slowest possible speed to increase recording quality, strength, use disk at once burning method, don't creater multisession, try different make CD's. I have a fairly old CD/MD player in one of the cars and it does not read CD-RW at all, reads CD-R only if they are burned at low speed and disk at once , does not read multiseesion. Also have seen that burned CD's from one pc works in 50% of other PC's and does not in other 50% this has mostly been with notebook burners. Burning at slower speeds have helped in half of those cases.

chances are you just bought the wrong kind of CDs, most likely +rw.

like the above suggested, try using a CD-R.

The CDs are CD-RW. I'll try some CD-R CDs. Thanks for the Replies. Also it's a desktop burner not a notebook one so thats not the problem.

Use CD-R's and burn them as an AUDIO CD some disc players don't support MP3 playing. Good Luck :)

Does the RIAA read these forums? I thought I saw someone write they were "burning" a music cd... they will not tolerate this stealing... you must buy the some every time you play it... EVERY TIME
