DARPA funds automatic language translation project

Real-time translation of television, phone or web sites could come in a few years if the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has its way. Its funding the Global Autonomous Language Exploitation (GALE) project that will aim for 90 to 95 percent accurate translations of Arabic or Mandarin by 2010. Competitors are large companies like IBM, SRI and BBN who must make the grade every year or risk being cut from the project. Read more

Scientists Develop Semi-accurate Dog Translator

Scientists at the Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary have developed a computer that can "translate" dog barks. We put translate in quotes because the machine can only detect the dogs' general mood at the time. Scientists claim the readings are 43 percent accurate - something which doesn't seem that great, but they add most humans would not have done so well. Read more

Eizo announces 10-bit capable professional widescreen LCDs

when i have ordered out of stock items. and they say this day or that day we are about %100 of the time right. i know. i have ordered tons of stuff which went out of stock. newegg is very good about letting you know when they will have the stock for the item. and if this is about a 8800GT. then i dont know because them 8800GT's are going as fast as they get them in
