NET.Framework?

I have a corrupted net.framework and I cant reinstal or uninstal it or even upgrade it to a newer version... It has been bothering me for some time because i cant play some games and I cannot fix it anyhow with chdsk or anything... Do I have to reinstall Windows and format my HDD or is there a way to fix this?

Windows Vista 64bit, planning to instal Windows 7 after format. And NET.Framework version that is corrupted is 2.0.50727 tried to instal 3.5 but its not working...
