Windows Update

Where I work we have a large amount of Windows XP SP2-SP3 Machines, and whenever Windows update comes along, if the computer isnt on at 3AM to download and install updates it does it the next day when people are using the machine. Unfortunately I dont know of anyway to fix this so I am asking for your help. I want Windows to download and install updates on shutdown or just install them on shutdown so it doesnt interupt the user. Is there even a solution for this problem, or would I have to set Windows update to download only and manually install?

You can change that 3 a. m. setting to a more convenient time, preferably one when the computer is switched on.

Problem is these computers are used pretty much constantly through the day then turned off at the end of the day which can vary from what I am aware of

This is just a thought but.Don't your people eat lunch?You could set it for lunch time
and it would be done at that time

Thats what I am thinking but if they leave something open during their lunch break or they take a different lunch break then usual..
