Good 5.1 speakers?

I need a good set of 5.1 speakers. I'll also be getting an X-fi Xtremegamer sound card for christmas. What are some suggestions in terms of price/performance?

I have a set of creative 2.1 speakers and I think they're ok but I want to hand them down to my family who have some terrible H/K generic pair and get myself something nice for christmas. So... suggestions anyone? I think I could go as high as $120 +/- some.

in my experience logitech's speaker systems are good quality and offer a good performance / price ratio.

the least expensive 5.1 surround sound system they offer is the Logitech X-530 on newegg for ~$70 after shipping.

for more power, better sound, and more $$, you could check out the Logitech THX Z-5300e on newegg for ~$155 after shipping. i'd recommend these if they're not too far out of your price range.

Z-5300e for sure man....i got them 2 months ago and im glad i did. I own the big brothers to them the z-5500 as well for my 360/movies. Logitech makes awesome speakers for an incredible price....clubit has the 5300e for $50 after mail in rebates ($110 + $24 shipping to begin with)http://clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A5147063 however, they are currently out of stock at the moment

I have klipsch pro media 2.1 and they kick ass. I'm sure they have a surround set up as well

I actually have these speakers, and On my new build Iam puttin Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Fata1lity Platnium.

But these speakers are no doubt the BEST, they offer high crisp sound, deatiled sound much better than Logitech.

It is much worth the price of $400, I got in on sale for $350 couple of months back.

But ya overall these are the BEST 5.1 speakers you can find, knowing its from BOSE, you get the best/highest quality of sound arround.

You wont doubt these...


Also they do look small in the picture... dont doubt the picture they are actually large, gotto a near buy Best Buy store and check em out on display.

I actually just ordered a set of Klipsch GMX 5.1 speakers... I've never heard anything that sounds better. You'd have to get them on Ebay, as Klipsch no longer actually sells them (selfish monkey uncles don't realize just how good those speakers sound!)

$150 shipped on Ebay, and they have more.

Z-640 from Logitech over here paired with an Audigy 2 ZS. Oooooooold speakers but Im pretty sure Logitechs updated versions (x-580 and 5300) are great too.
