Cleaning off old thermal paste

I need to clean old thermal grease off of a heatsink I am reusing.

Is 70% rubbing alcohol fine, or should I get something more concentrated?

This is using the coffee filter method.

70% rubbing alcohol is fine. Heck, even 0% (water) is fine, it's just gonna take more effort.

This is what I did to clean my E2180 after I removed the stock heatsink to make way for my TX-2. Works like a charm with what you've mentioned. Just take not that very very little fluid is needed e.g. a couple drops from a dropper thing onto the coffee filter will do good.
