Hi community!

I want to ask you, which online-stores in the USA you can recommend.
I´m from Germany and in March 2 weeks in California for holiday.

I want to use the advantageous stock exchange value of Euro to USD.
The prices are much better for me then.
500$ are about 341€ at this time.

I speculate buying one of the new 9800 Series, during my stay in the USA.

Where do you buy your hardware (video cards) in the USA?
Do you have some links for me?
Or do you know a good comparison shopping site ?

I´m looking forward hearing from you.

Thank you very much :)

Greetings from Germany

Sorry for my English :(

Well, depending on how long you vacation is -- you'll want to make sure they can get it out the door and shipped before you go back to Germany.

-Newegg.com
-Zipzoomfly.com
-NCIXUS.com
-Tigerdirect

and more....

If you want to check out the ratings for some stores, check out resellerratings.com

For things like cables and other small misc, small tool kit or screws cyberguys.com is good but their prices for hardware is usually higher

What happens if you need to return a defect item? You're taking a risk here.

Do you know somebody in the USA who would be willing to order the stuff for you a week or two before you arrive? This way you have a better chance that they will ship on time. Also, I doubt that newegg ships to hotel rooms.

You'll also need a plan for shipping the parts back, there are laws that prevent the export of certain technologies and of course you have airport security. The fact that parts are imported does not mean they can be exported. The US government in its eternal wisdom does not want to spread technology to countries that already have it. :sarcastic:

Newegg is the first place I look. Then I go to ZipZoomfly.com. Tigerdirect used to be good now they are overpriced and their website is horrible.

Well, thank you very much for your answers!
I´ll compare the price between these shops, when i am in the USA.

Yeah, i know someone there.
He will order it then.

I hope the card will be okay.

I wouldn't order online since you are only there for 2 weeks. It should be plenty of time, but you never know.
As Badge suggested, Fry's would probably be your best bet. They will have a good selection as well as decent prices.
