hi.
im adding a radeon hd 2600pro 256mb His IceQ Turbo to my computer
i have 250w powersupply.
so i was thinking to get 500w for 53$
but i went to
http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine
here and calculated my needed power.
and i got 216W with the graphics card

my spec is::(after the upgrade)
core 2 duo e4400 (no OC)
1GB x2 ddr2 pc5300
320GB HDD 7200RPM
2 DVD Ram Drives
4 80mm LED Fan (including CPU fan)
Radeon hd 2600pro 256mb ddr2 iceQ turbo
internet pci card

this is about it and came out that i only need 216w.

Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable running a system if I had so little head room on the power supply. Many power supplies are incapable of outputting their actual rating. Heck, motherboards and their chipsets can differ by 20-30W last I saw. Furthermore, I'm going to guess that your 250W PS is a little old, and the capacitors may be showing age. You don't need a beat of a power supply for that system; buy something from a decent brand and you'll be good to go.
