Question on 80%+ certification

PSU's like the Antec Earthwatts have the %80+ efficiency badge but most of the PSU's I see recommended on here don't. Is there something I'm missing or are PSU's that are rated 80%+ still pretty rare.

I have a P180 and am going for a second workstation based on a P182 but need a good power supply and efficiency is important to me.

Any sugestions around the 500W mark as this is what the power supply calculator suggested.

Anandtech recently did 2 articles on power supply efficiency. You might want to read them. Pay attention to the cheaper brands that failed under load.

Thanks. The message is that there are a lot of PSU's with high efficiency but this has to be combined with performance, stability and quality.
