Okay I have a budget of $40 and need a good CPU Cooler for my Q6600. I was looking at the Cooler Freezer Pro 7 but then some people said it "wasnt built for quad-cores" so Im not sure. Anyway If someone could please help me out here, im lost.

the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 is a great choice for your price range and can be bought at times for 28 dollars. The cooler freezer pro 7 is also a great choice, either one will work fine.

I've got a Q6600 and I've tried both the Xigmatek HDT S1283 and the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7, and the Xigmatek is better. They're both good values though.

alright, I just ordered the xigmatek one. With s&h it was $43. Thanks guys, this is exactly what I wanted

try lapping it.but dont lap it too much though as there is heatpipes exposed.

It's a bad idea to lap heatpipes. You might create a hole that's not visible and let all the liquid leak out.
