I was oc'ing my maximus formula, selected my settings wanted and then saved and exited but now it just wont boot. i got a little LCD Poster with the board and it is stuck on DET DRAM which i figure is Detecting DRAM :pfff: . it just hangs on it. i change ram from the Ballistix 1066mhz ram to some spare Corsair DHX 800mhz ram i have and it the shows on the little LCD poster on CMOS ERR but nothing is displayed on the monitor. So i thought it may video card not posting on the screen so i went out bought a 2400pro and swaped it around with my 2900xt and it still doesn't show anything on the monitor .

Any help?

bmadd - I have a maximus formula on order - but don't have it up and running yet. What may have happened is the BIOS settings you saved are not valid and you need to reset them. It sounds like you cannot enter BIOS setup at all during POST - by pressing "del" key right?

What you should try is clearing your BIOS settings in CMOS back to the default factory settings. See Page 2-24 in manual Section 2.6 Clear RTC RAM. It has the procedure of what to do

Try resetting the motherboard settings with the jumper on the motherboard. If you're not sure where it is, check the manual. The settings you've selected for your oc is preventing the motherboard from booting.Good luck.

;) - Since I don't have my new Maximus yet - All I can do is is RTF. :)

i've probably cleared it a good 100 times while try different configurations like changing the ram reset cmos, change video cards clear cmos via button and switch (no jumers)

What did you change your overclock settings to causing it to black out?

Did you try with just one stick of RAM?

After you clear CMOS, you can pull out the CMOS battery, let it sit overnight, reinstall the battery, clear CMOS again, and try booting up. Also, check the ASUS support forums for ASUS Maximus Formula, lots of info there on this "clearing the CMOS" thing.

I had the same problem. I got a cheapo stick of 512mb 533mhz ddr2, put it in the slot and the board booted. Changed the ddr voltage to meet the spec of my Ballistix. Saved it, shut down and switched ram and it booted. Learned this trick when I had a Striker. Hope it helps.
