Dvds wont play on pc

every time i put dvd in dive it atoplays windows media player 11 and then closes down and 'no messege 'no(sorry if you were in the middle of somthing but windows media player had to shut ) help please?

The first thing I would try is going to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, locate and uninstall Windows Media Player 11. Restart your computer then use My Computer to navigate to c:\Program Files. Locate the Windows Media Player folder and delete it. Then download and reinstall WMP 11.
