Hi guys
I have a question. I just finished build my new system and when I start it there is no POST beep. There is none because I have to connect some kind of cablr (SPEAK , says manual of matherboard) but I don't know which one. I guess that cable should come from the case, but I don't see any. The only two cable with or pin input (requirements of SPEAK ) are named: HD Audio and AC'97. Is one of them? If so, which one. If not what kind of should be?. My case is Antec 900
I appriciate your help guys
thx

Some cases do not come with a built-in speaker.

If your case does not have a PC Speaker in it, usually the mobo will come with a tiny speaker that you plug directly into the board.

What is your Brand and model of your mobo?

hi
My mobo is GIGABYTE-P3-DS3L
Thanks a lot

Yea that case probably does not have a speaker. The mobo does not look like it has one included either. But if it does, usually the speak looks like a black cylinder on top of a board plug.

Hi
Thanks for replay. Could I use something else instead so it would tell me what kind of problem it has?
Thanks

If you have an old PC laying around, you could just rip the speaker out of that and plug it into the mobo. They are a pretty generic type of thing.

BTW the header/connection for the PC Speaker is usually located where the LEDs for the case plug into the mobo.

how may i rip it out? Isn't connected in there for good? Is it gonna work? What do you mean by that?

No. PC Speakers/Internal Speakers are screwed into the the front of most computer cases. All you would have to do is unscrew and unplug the speaker and remount it and plug it in to your new PC. They are not a perment compnent whatso ever. A speaker is pretty universal. The only problem you may have is finding a place in the new case to mount it. Other than that the plugs should be the same, unless the older PC is an OEM product like a Dell or HP.
