Okay, I'm looking to create a budget computer at about $1000 or less. I use the computer mostly for school, watching some anime occasionaly, and somewhat rarely play a few online games. I've done a little more research and come to about a $900 build from newegg, let me know what you think or if you have any further suggestions. *btw- I really don't plan on upgrading this computer anytime in the near future, so I'm not too concerned with future proofing the machine, just looking to get by with any random games that are out now, WoW and etc.

CPU - Intel duel core e2160 (OC to 3.0 or so) - $83
GPU - XFX 8600GT XXX - $100
MOBO - Gigabyte P35-DS3L - $95
RAM - G.Skill 2GB (2x1) DDR 800 - $55
Case - Coolermaster Centurion 5 - $40
PSU - Rosewill RP550-2 (550watt) - $52
HD - Western Digital 160GB 7200rpm - $50
OS - XP MCE 2005 SP2B - $115
Monitor - HannsG 19" LCD JC-199DPB - $170
Speakers - Logitech x-230 - $39
Optical - Samsung 20x SH-S202G - $28
Keyboard/Mouse - Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 - $22

Total with shipping - about $900

Rosewill PSU's are so so at best, so if you cannot get a stable overclock, I would check that first. A Corsair 450vx would be much better for just a little more money. And, yes a 450 watt can be better than a 550 watt based on quality and amps on the 12v rail.

I also do not think Gskill is on the Gigabyte approved list. You would be better off with Corsair XMS or Kingston HyperX.

Here is a pretty decent article on OCing the 2160. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/pentium-e2160.html
