Hi all,

I'm after a direct comparison between these processors in Video/Audio Encoding.

I'm aware that the Core2 based processors are superior than the other, but I would like to see some numbers as to how much.

Linkage/graphs would be ideal. Any help would be much appreciated.

The Irwindales are pretty much rebranded Pentium 4 Prescott 2M (model number 6x0) processors. The Xeon 5100 series are otherwise identical to the Core 2 Duo models with the same clock and bus speed and cache. The Xeon 5300 units are similar to the Core 2 Quad Kentsfields. You should be able to get a rough idea how the Xeons compare to each other from looking at the Core 2 Duo/Quad and P4 6x0 numbers.
