So today, I received my new Klipsch GMX-D 5.1 speakers. I finally got them set up (I had to clean my desk to find spots for everything), and I attached my toslink SPDIF cable into my computer and then the receiver, and I have no sound.
I've messed with every setting possible in both the Windows sound and the Realtek HD Audio manager.
I just downloaded the newest drivers, 1.82.
Is there anything that I'm missing??
I'm on Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

After uninstalling and reinstalling the Realtek drivers about a dozen or so times ( and a few times of threatening that the dump has a special place for the destruction of stubborn computers ), I finally got them working.

How? I've had issues on and off with Realtek HD manager since just building this new computer a couple weeks ago. Fiddling here and there and all of sudden my speakers were working....no special reason or different settings. Then today I plug in a new headset (first time ever) and the realtek window comes up. Set the tab to headset since I have no sound in headset but still in speakers...speakers stop working... NOW I HAVE NO sound at all. If you found anything specific in the settings please post. Thanks.
