Ok, i'll start this thread by admitting that "you told me so" and that i should "never buy an unknown heatsink".

Good now that i got that off my chest, ill explain the situation.

I got a GA-X38-DQ6 obviously, and a GlacialTech 5700MC HSF. Again obvious to say, they don't fit.

Problem was, that the mobo has a heatsink grid on the back side, and the heatsink screws weren't long enough to reach the connecting platform of the screws on the other side. The grid was in the way.

I need a list of compatible, "KNOWN", HSF really really quickly, as tomorrow morning this comp needs to be ready for use.

Thank you, and once again, i will never doubte you guys :non:

as far as i know its not so much a problem with incompatible heatsinks but a problem with the back of the gigabyte X38 boards
