More Information

Does the (white) Samsung TruDirect 20X External DVD Writer (USB with Direct DVD Recording Software) do everything that the (black) version does? In other words, is the TrueDirect version (usually) more expensive just because it offers direct DVD recording, but, apart from that, it can do all the "ordinary" jobs as well?

The reason I'm asking is because Samsung's info is so totally concerned with the TrueDirect function that it doesn't actually say. At least, I can't find the info I need.

I want an external DVD/CD writer/reader to go along with my Asus Eee 901, which has no optical drive. I need it to be able to do all the standard optical drive functions, reading and writing CDs and DVDs.

A friend has given me this (very nice) white SE-S204S, but before I undo the packaging, I want to know for sure.

Thanks a lot.
