Hi all,
I am wondering about this speedstep limiting to 6 X 2000 on my E8400 @ stock, I heard its more for laptops to save battery...??
Can someone please tell me how to turn it off, as if I just turn off the eist function it then does not boot up properly and runs slow...>>
I have run core temp it says 49 degrees Idle and goes to 59 degrees under orthos. Can I get 3.6Ghz safely so I can run my Ram at 1:1.
Heres My Specs

Turning off EIST makes the pc fail to boot? That's rather interesting, it shouldn't do that, AFAIK. You did also disable other energy saving options right?
To your OC question, the temps are too high to OC. Make sure the cooler is correctly seated and the push pin securely in. The load temps are a bit too high. The general rule of thumb is to stay under 65C, however the E8400 can handle up to 70C.
