Do the new Xeons still require ECC memory to function? IF price wasn't an issue, then would a similarly configured Xeon rig do better in gaming than a C2D/C2Q, even if marginally? Any Xeon benchmarks with games? I looked but can't find any :(

The XEONS that use the 771 Slot will go into Mobos that require FB-DIMMs which are slower and more expensive.

Some XEONS has a 775 slot and in that case would work in normal boards and have similar performnace.
