I have a compaq presario 1200 laptop. We tried to get it onto the internet. We bought a TP-Link but it doesn't work. We loaded Windows XP on as it only had ME. Now we have 1 partition with 2.08gb and 1 unassigned partition with 1.36gb.
Can anyone help me please how do I remove this partition and make 1 big hard drive and then we think the TP-Link will work.
There is no data on this disk so I could reformat it all and start again but I don't know how.

Restart the computer, and tap the delete key until you get into the BIOS.

Set your optical drive as the first boot device.

Insert the XP disc.

Save the changes and exit the BIOS.

When it restarts, you'll see a message to 'press any key.' Do so at that time.

This will start the format/install process.

You can delete the existing partitions, do a full format and install on the unallocated space.
