ive been running my asus P5KE-WIFI app board with quad core, 2gb of ram and 8800GT nvidia card. Had no problems except for today i insert two 500gb SATA drives and enter the bios to set SATA as RAID. Enter the RAID config with CTRL +I and create mirror, no problems, however When i save and reboot, i get no input on the monitor, just black and my 8800 GT fan is going full speed. (normally quitens after 10 seconds or so).
It doesnt do anything until i unplug it and put it back in, then it gives me errors about "overclocking failed", so restoring the default values reverses the board to when the SATA was not RAID. This boots to windows showing TWO 500gb drives and not showing them as congfigured because it doesnt let me continue to windows unless i restore default settings.
Can anyone help me? this is driving me nuts! Why wont it accept any new bios changes! I mean any! Im sure ive tried some others before and the same thing has happened.
FIXED IT!
me and my bro figured out that the MB doesnt like the auto setting of the ram, so we changed it to 533 (i think) and it boots fine now! Hopefully others will be able to solve this problem that i had!
SO ANNOYING!
I have a similar problem w/o doing RAID. I'm running two 8800GTS w6gig of 1066 DDR2. Whenever I shut down and restart the monitors go black and the fan goes nuts. I.m going to try your way of taking the memory out of auto and using 1066 to see if this work.
