ok my pc specs are in my sig and my pc can hold 4 hdd at one time, so in addition to the 320GB i have a blank 80GB i bought 2-3 years ago and would like to add it into the system. my question is how would i install a os on it? its totally blank. what are the steps needed to make this hdd work? also if i can get an os on it is it possible to choose which hdd i want to boot when i turn on my pc? thanks for any advice/help
1) Install hard drive
2) Insert install disk for desired OS
3) Format and install OS
4) Install GRUB or change boot order in the BIOS. If installing 2 diffrent versions of Windows, it will give you an option to boot into either version.

ok thanks much dude. i would like to have "2 cpu's in one". the 320gb hdd will have vista home premium on it, if i put home basic on the second hdd will it still ask at start up?
It should.
Normally it will give you a few seconds before loading an OS to chose which to load.

shudnt need driver for hdd for xp or vista... Sorry but why wud u need vista basic, vista home premium, and xp on a single machine?
U actually dont even need a new separate disk to do that just partition the 320G 4 ways C, D, E, F. Put win2k on C in FAT16, Win xp on D in Fat32, vista HP on E in NTFS, and Vista Basic on F in exFat (fat64) assuming u have sp1. Then take the 80gb and put redhat on it. Then you can have a great collection of os's all in one!
