Is a Netgear WGR614 v6 wireless router good for groundlines ethernet cables?

In other words, it is a little scuffed up, is the Netgear router sufficient to run 2-3 ethernet cables from the ethernet jacks in the back of the router1? Dont use wireless except for internet browsing, so I was trying to connect a couple computers through the router. Will it run as well as any other router? Or will the signal dilute? I have had it for over 2 years.

Thanks in advance.

For a wired home router, it's good. If I were to buy a router, I would look into a vpn firewall. No, you don't have to use VPN to use the firewall. It can usually handle more traffic than a home router. It's designed for small businesses. They can be had for $50-ish on ebay. Setting one up may take more time than a home router cuz it's usually policy/rule-based.
