Howdy,
I'm in the process of building a new (non-gamer) system, and have come accross this slight dilemma concerning a decent/quality P35 mobo.
Currently I'm looking at three boards;
Abit IP35 Pro
MSI P35 Platinum and
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R
(since the Asus P5K -series are a touch flaky or so I've heard)

The build has:
-C2D E6750
-4Gb PC2-6400 (Kingston Value RAM) (cheap)
-1 250Gb WD IDE HDD
-2 320Gb Seagate S-ATA HDD's (no RAID)
-Radeon HD2600XT 256Mb GDDR3
and will run XP pro (no-no for Vi$ta at this point)

I've done my research but any comments about the boards "under evaluation" would be very much appreciated.
T

PS all parts, except the CPU and RAM are in my current build

If you are building a non gamer system, even the 2400 would do. But regardless everything looks good. Motherboard wise, I haven't heard anything shady about the Asus p5k...Drop the MSI board idea,

As long as you go with the Abit, Gigabyte, or Asus p5k board, you're fine.

If you don't need raid, just nab a Gigabyte p35-DS3L, you'll end up saving around 40 bucks.
