hi, recently i plan to upgrade my old pc ..

but then i've given such choices .. i dunno which to choose ..

P4 3EGhz - SL7PM 1M/800
P4 3Ghz - SL6WK 512K/800

which one is better ?? i dunno which stepping r they ..


the SL7PM is Prescott core ? how bout the other ? i heard some say northwood is better while some say Prescott.. i get confused ... hope someone can asnwer me .. thx !!

I like the northwoods. They run a little cooler. I got my 2.8c northwood up to 3500 without raising the voltage.
Computer geeks has a refurbished one for $47.50; Starmicro has one new for about $51.

other than wondering if your mobo can handle the prescott core (not all 478's can), the only other choice I would look at is whether or not the room your pc will be in is cold or not? if its cold, and needs a little heat boost, go prescott, otherwise I would go northwood.
