Hi All,
I have just o/c'd my E8400 to 3.6Ghz stable but I am nervous about long term effects ect...?
My VCORE is 1.25
Core Temps 49' Idle and 59' Under Orthos Load
My memory is OCZ REAPER P6400 and I set Looser than spec at 5-5-5-15

The main concern is I set it to 9X400 = 3.6 i CAN NOT RAISE IT HIGHER THAN 9 x THATS THE MAX
But FSB goes to 1600 and its only rated @ 1333.
Board is a GA-P35-DS3P
PLEASE advise.??

lol!

warpedsystems started selling only overclocked systems in 2003, we offer a 3 year warranty and we have zero cpu failure record. that means that every system is overcocked and we have never had one cpu failure.

the E8400 can be clocked to 3.8-4.2ghz depends on your cpu

the sweet spot is 4ghz

to answer your question:

your cpu will work at 4ghz for ~5 years plus at 1.45v at 100% usage

5 years at 4GHz running continuously at 100%? I doubt it, back it up with proof.

Why I say this is because my friend who had a P4 2.8GHz non-OCed with a 9800 ATI card died within 4years, not by heating issues mind you. His vidcard died within 2 years, his ram and HD died within 3 years, and finally his cpu and motherboard died within 4years. This was on all stock settings, and the pc was used 8hours a day (mostly for gaming). Oh and after he got a BFG6600GT, it died within 3.5years, stock settings.

So 5years at 4GHz on a E8400 with 1.45V running 100% continuously is highly unlikely.
