I had recently obtained some more memory (had 2 gigs, tried 2 more) and when I got it, I made sure to run Memtest to be sure things were okay. And unfortunately, 3 errors after about 20 minutes. I then tried running it on just the old memory by itself in DIMM slots 1 and 2 for a few hours, and that was fine. Much to my surprise, I tested the new memory by itself in the same slots and it was also fine!!! So apparently my DIMM slots 3 and 4 must be erroneous. I naturally had to return the memory as it's unusable in the slots and in retrospect, it seemed to be a silly upgrade choice.

Has anyone heard of something like this happening?
