Does Dell still do that proprietary crap with their Mobos?? Cos if the OP is upgrading a Dell, he may need to buy a Dell mobo because otherwise he's going to have trouble with connectors which are different from standard.

If he's building new? Don't buy Dell *anything*. Buy standard parts.
 
Scotteq is correct. I have worked at Dell manufacturing twice. A few of their new products use a standard micro atx motherboard. But the case connector may still have to be spliced to fit a standard non dell board. If you are trying to upgrade a dell system with this board, proceed with caution. Just because dell is selling that MSI board on their website doesn't automatically mean it will fit in one of their systems.
 


Agreed. The OP should just get a cheap case and possibly a PSU and transfer the HDD, RAM etc and just get a P35-DS3L. You might also need to get an OS because the Dell OS CDs will not work since they are OEM.
