Im moving away from home to a different city soon, and i want to be able to keep a drive at my home with my parents, and be able to backup files to it from the new location. At home we have a router and a broadband connection- not sure yet how the new location will work but it will have some form of broadband. I just want to backup my hard drive with all the important data on it, so that in case i get robbed or the house blows up etc, then i have the files backed up safely at my parents house. The files would be small each time i would send them. I want the simplest way to do this, im looking at the Maxtor Central Axis drive, and also the buffalo linkstation. but it seems that what i want to do may not be as simple as these companys make it sound. please, can anyone offer some suggestions? will the maxtor central axis work for remotely backing up files in the way i describe?
