Ok so here is my set up

2 8800GT video cards,
6600 Quad core
8gb geil ddr2 ram,
the new asus X38 board
1 cdrw 1 dvdrw
two raptor 150gb hard drive,

Thats the bulk of it. Now i have the new coolmaster 1000 case which is like 50 pounds. The last time i built a computer, my power supply cords were too short.

So what i need is a power supply that good, with long cords. I dont really care about price, i just want somehting thats quality. Any suggestions?

I like Antec PSUs, something like a  Antec NeoPower 650.  As for the length of the cords, just get some extension cords if the cords aren't long enough.

I like antec and sparkle (which no one buys anymore). But the crowd favorite appears to be corsair. Newegg has a 550w model for $85 after rebate. Couldn't tell how long the cables were by the pictures or reviews.

For that system I'd get an Antec TruePower Quattro 850W (64A on 12V rails), PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 (60A on 12V rail), or Corsair 750TX (60A on 12V rails). Even though the Antec and Corsair say they have multiple rails, they are both manufactured by seasonic with their "multiple rail" design which is actually a single big rail design. (Single rails are better than multiple rails)

I prefer Seasonic PSUs.

But I also recommend the Corsair HX and PC Power & Cooling Silencer series since they are also made by Seasonic.

Antec has some PSU made by Seasonic, but Antec has a tendency to cut corners.

PC Power and Cooling Silencer 750 Quad.  Hands down best.  It's super stable, reliable, relatively quiet (Vs. other high power PSU) and is a great price.

Maximum PC even chose it for there "Dream Machine" this year.  And they could have chosen any (No Budget constraints!).

I bought one 2 months ago and really like it!

PS. they come in 3 colours for your taste.  Red, Copper and Black.

HTats funny since i work at best buy very aprt time but get the discount.. they have that Antec 650 which would be like 80 bucks on employee discount... I was just wondering if the 650 was enough for what i will run... I will not overclock but i will be getting another 4 gig for a total of 8 since i got my hands on a 64 bit copy of xp pro. So still go with the antec??

ps thanks for the advice
