Heya, Suggestions:

If you really need to cut down on prices, then you could:
A) Get a smaller HDD. Would only save about $20.
B) Get a less expensive case. Would also only save ~$20...and your case looks good anyways.
C) Don't use an SLI setup.
D) Don't get such an insanely priced MOBO. I realize you might need firewire and SLI, but wow...that is expensive.
E) Don't overclock it to the point you need a CPU cooler.

Comments:
-Don't go with the 8800GTS 320MB. There are so many similarly priced, better options, such as:
A) 8800GT 512MB or
B) ATI 3870 512MB
-You would probably want 4GB. Are you using a 64bit os?
-You have enough power.
-Should fit.
-Should be cool enough.
-The Q6600 is a good choice for your needs.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Now that's what I call a SANE decision. For all I care, Phenom can go to the landfill. Q6600 is the best bang quad-core out now.

I agree with above comments. Don't o/c. Dump the cooler. Use Intel hsf. EVGA 680i is a very good yet affordable choice for an SLI board. Also, there are $50 2x1GB all over the places. newegg has them. Just look around.

You may need SLI if you monitor resolution is high. You can go with one card, if it's not enough, get another identical one.

Take a look at tiger there prices are normely the same or cheaper as new egg plus u wont need that sli setup to run crysis 1 will be good not to mention WoW lmao you will need a 7500 for that video editing takes ram not a out of this wrold videocard setup youll be alright with one and downgrade the mobo no need for the asus striker it sounds good cuz it is however for waht u wont to do you will not need it.

Edit:I personly would upgrade the case the one you have picke dout looks like it came form the ages of win95 get somthing that looks cool and can hold lots of fans beacuse your gunna run hot realy hot.

What's WoW? You mean the game called WarRaiders? You'd need a good video card to do 25-50-man raid. :D

The Solo is very quiet. Both side & top panels have polycarbonate material to deaden sound.

Changes that could save you the $300 you want to trim:
Case: COOLER MASTER RC-690 $70 plus $40 rebate = $30 RC-690 review
PSU: COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro 750W $120 plus $50 rebate = $70 CM 750 review SLI Certified
It's not the same excellent quality as the PC&C 610 - but its actually very good quality at a very good price.

Motherboard: either Asus P5N32-E SLI nForce 680i SLI or EVGA NF68-A1 nForce 680i SLI will save $100+
The EVGA nForce 680i SLI T1 version might meet all your needs and save $150
680i SLI T1 $160 after $30 rebate @ Zipzoomfly

Graphics card: Just get one 8800GT for now. If performance isn't up to your expectations then consider SLI
Just be aware that not all games benefit from SLI. In many cases 8800GTX can still be the best performance choice.
Keep an eye out for details of the new 8800GTS due out shortly. It could be the card you want.

CPU Cooler: ZEROtherm NV120 $45 and $10 rebate = $35 NV 120 review NV 120 review with C2Q 6600
90+% of the TR 120 Extreme performance for half the price.

Extra case fan - not required. - $25

RAM - 2GB should be fine but you may have saved enough to want 3GB. 2x1GB and 2x512MB sticks.

Great thanks for the input im looking around trying to find out the release of the 8800GTS.
I get the general feeling that I dont need that motherboard or SLI set up graphics cards to do the things i need, that should get me within budget and still doing some great gaming.
I appreciate the updates for cheaper items espically thanks WR2.

I spent about $1300 and got the following.
Antec P180B case, Q6600, eVGA 8800GTX, 4GB DDR2-800 Crucial 4-4-4-15 RAM, MSI P35 Platinum, OCZ 750W PSU, V1 CL-P0401 CPU Fan/Sink. I know lots of people aren't big on 3DMark 2006, but I bought it last year and my system ranked 13th of it's "comparable" systems. Mine scored 11175 with the highest on the list being 12030. Only systems really higher were significantly more expensive. We're talking $500+.

I already had a DL-DVDRW, 200GB SATA, Keyboard/Mouse, Dell 24" Monitor.

I have XP and Vista 32bit dual booting and play Crysis. At 1280x720, Very High I get about 25fps steady. At 800x600 I get about 35fps steady. I've heard installing 64bit Vista boosts those numbers by as much as 15%.

BTW: Two 8800GT's give lower FPS than a single 8800GTX and only save you a few dollars. Two GTXs only give you about 5% more FPS for twice the cost.

Until 45nm Phenoms, AMD is a budget quad core. His price range is not budget. If I had the same amount of money he has, the only difference is I would get an Intel board for the Intel CPU and I'd get an X3870.

The problem is it's hard finding either an 8800GT or an X3870 in stock right now, which is probably why he went 8800GTS 320. If you insist upon building now, then you get what card's available at the time you order the rest of the components.

That motherboard is pricey, since I'm an ATI chipset fan, I'm waiting for hybrid Crossfire myself, but were I to go Crossfire, I'd want a 790FX board. Looks like he chose a good Nvidia board for SLI.

I can't wait to get an Athlon X2 6400+ on a 790 hybrid Crossfire board with an X3870, though if supplies keep low, I may end up with an X3850. For those that will consider an X3850, Newegg has a warning of a price increase above all their X3850's that indicate a price increase on November 27th. I guess the market's preventing MSRP for all the great graphics cards this holiday season.
