Hi, I'm looking to build my first computer for gaming purposes. I'm not very good with compatability and such. I guess the biggest determining factor is the size of the case and the mobo. I assume most else will work together.
I'm picking up Intel's retailedge bundle and I heard that the motherboard is not that good. Newegg doesn't give it great reviews. What I'm wondering is whether it will work for me and if not, whats a good alternative? These are the parts I'm looking at so far.

Motherboard - Intel® Desktop Board DG33TL Media Series

CPU - Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6700 processor

OS - Windows Vista Home Premium Edition

^These three come together

*Having a hard time finding a good deal on a video card. I don't necessarily need 640mb vram but it sure would be nice.

So I guess, my questions are: Is the motherboard good enough? Any cheap replacements if not? Will everything be compatible? and any ideas on the video card?

..and thank you very much in advance. I will really appreciate any advice.

Either read help if you want to know how to properly use BB codes in forums or just paste the link below the product description.

This is a very good deal, but I would say it's what 8800GT should cost:

The mobo is matx, which fits perfectly in an HTPC. Your case is a full-size atx. So get an atx board like Abit IP35-E or GA-P35-DS3L.

Don't waste money on ram faster than PC2-6400/800MHZ if you don't overclock.

If there's an office depot around, pick this up:

Or at least a surge suppressor. Don't plug a thousand dollars pc in a $5 surge suppressor.

newegg has CM690 for $30 after rebate. It looks like the Antec 900. Take a look.

The psu is not a great brand. For 8800GT, the pc will need a 425W 28A psu. Anything in tier1/2:
