when i play mpg files on my laptop, the picture is like fast forwarding while the audio is at normal speed.
this happens only with mpg files. avi files are played normally.
i have a satellite card on my desktop which records in mpg format, & the files r played normally on my desktop but not on my laptop, although im installing the same codec packs on both PCs.
is this a codec problem or a hardware problem ?
my laptop chip type is S3 VIA Chrome9 HC IGP & my video memory is 64 MB

am not sure this will help you , but try reinstall you're codec packs
i may suggest klite codec pack, ive got these similar problems of audio video synchronism, when i have a conflict with codec packs
Maybe your player uses different codecs in audio & video. make sure your codec pack use it's own codec, mpeg audio & mpegvideo, if one of these use the codec from software of satellite card which i think has it's own codec, the result is your video will not syncronize wit your audio. (sorry for my bad english, it's not my native language)
