Looking for a system that will run games well (games like Obllivion)

I am on a budget and I am not expecting a high end but Im buying bare bones so hope that helps.

I would like an opinion so I dont screw up here. I notice I am supposed to avoid Intel D processors so should I not worry about this system now?

I know its a pain but any thoughts and help would be appreciated

I'd skip on that barebones. The Ultra PSU is crap. You don't want Pentium D, Core 2 Duo is much better. And you won't be happy with the two 8500 video cards for gaming. All that's left is a decent motherboard and some good RAM.

Thanks for the replies.

Anyone suggest another site besides Tigerdirect? Im not comfortable buying each indivitual part because of possible compatibility issues (again, its been so long)

It's a shame you don't want to buy individually, because I'm building a cheap $600-$700 dollar rig that can run Oblivion fairly well. newegg.com had great deals.

Newegg, Mwave, Tigerdirect, Zipzoomfly, and ClubIT.

Those are the places I generally try to pricewatch stuff at.

I wouldnt mind doing it individually, I just dont know if I would do something silly like buying a CPU that doenst fit the mobo and stuff like that.

Last time I built a computer, MSI Neo was Tomshardware's top raded mobo for the price.

If you've built a computer before, there's no reason you can't do so again. Nothing about the process has gotten any harder. If you call the company to place your order, you can have the sales rep review your choices for compatibility (or post your component selections here and ask people to review them).

Just for future reference, Tiger Direct should be shut down for trying to sell such a rig. The only decent components are the overpriced ram and MB. The rest should be ground into rubble.

Personally, I would offer this rig for your budget range. You can watch Youtube videos to get comfortable with the build process. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=building+a+computer&search=Search

what is your budget? i'm sure the forum people will be able to check a list of components you provide and see if there are going to be any compatability issues (just make sure to check here first, before commiting)
