Hi, I need help on building a computer. To be honest thats the most I dont mind spending aslong it stays alive for atleast for a few years. Yes would like to build a computer for multitasking and serious gaming.

Heres main things im worried about really.

CPU: depends
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz Processor Model BX80562Q6600 - Retail
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz Processor Model BX80562Q6700 - Retail
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Processor Model EU80569XJ080NL - OEM

Motherboard: mother board that supports 45nm and NVIDIA SLI
GIGABYTE GA-X38T-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard

Video Card: Nvidia 8800GTX maybe dual still thinking.

RAM: a good 4 gigs of ram would be ok

OS: Not really sure on this still reading and wondering, Vista or XP, 32bit or 64bit.

but any thoughts or what not please post x.x

i dont think the x38 supports sli. 8800 gt is almost as good as the gtx but under 2 thirds the price. 64bit drivers are a bit hard to find but for 4 gig ram you will need 64bit os the q6600 chip is value for money with half decent cooling you could get it above 3 ghz the others are a bit overpriced

SLI on Intel? Over nvidia's dead bodies. The day it happens is the day nvidia goes under. A toned-down slower version in a future chipset, perhaps.

Unless you whited out your budget, what's the most you don't mind spending on this build?
